Community Gaming Grants Special Intake
February 3, 2012

Last month, Premier Christy Clark announced increased funding for Community Gaming Grants by $15 million and a special intake so that previously ineligible groups could apply for grants this fiscal year.

These groups include non-profit and charitable organizations that deliver services related to adult arts and culture, adult sports, the environment and animal welfare. Animal shelters, fish and wildlife associations, lake and stream stewardship societies, district arts councils, museum societies, theatres and other similar groups are now eligible to apply online.

Broadening eligibility will help local groups that might have previously missed out and can now capitalize on a funding opportunity. I hope all groups that applied before or considered applying do so this time. This commitment shows that this government is dedicated to supporting non-profits. Community gaming grants are a vital tool for building stronger communities.  Whether it’s a Parent Advisory Council or a community sports club receiving funding, they all do one thing – unite communities by bringing individuals together.

Please help spread the word. There are so many deserving organizations in Surrey and the deadline for applications is February 13th.  Don’t delay!
