Solicitor General Honours Surrey Corrections Staff

SURREY – Adult and youth corrections and probation officers from around the province were honoured at the Solicitor General’s annual Corrections Exemplary Service Medals award ceremony.

This year, 28 employees from the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General and the Ministry of Children and Family Development received awards presented by Solicitor General and Attorney General Shirley Bond and Minister of Children and Family Development Mary McNeil on behalf of the Governor General of Canada, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston. Three officers from Surrey received awards:

  • Leona Imrie – Surrey Pretrial Services Centre, Surrey, B.C.
  • Rodney Johnston – Surrey Pretrial Services Centre, Surrey, B.C.
  • Chad Salim – Surrey East Community Corrections Office, Surrey, B.C.

Why this matters:

  • The awards are presented to honour Corrections staff members who have reached milestones for exemplary service, beginning at 20 years for the Corrections Exemplary Service Medal and 30 years for the Corrections Exemplary Service Bar.
