| Congratulations to the Class of 2011
Congratulations to the Class of 2011 As graduates you are the future of our province and country. You will be relied upon going forward to apply the skills you have learned in school to assist in solving the problems of today and tomorrow. Your education provides you with the expertise to launch you wherever you want to go and be whatever you want. However your education does not conclude on your graduation day. In a world as fast changing as ours, it is important, that all of you remain lifelong learners. Your future is bright, in the next 10 years in B.C. 1 million jobs will be created, but only 650,000 young people will graduate over the same period of time. In the trades the number of workers retiring will surpass the number of new trades' people graduating by 2015. Tremendous opportunities exist and I encourage you to take advantage and embrace the challenge. Graduation is an important milestone, as it marks the end of adolescence and the beginning of adulthood. With the associated freedoms and privileges also come responsibilities. I encourage you to be good community citizens and make it one of your personal priorities to give back to those who gave to you. Congratulations Grad Class 2011, I wish you success as you pursue your future endeavours! | |
